Book Review: Hold Back the Tide (Sorrow #3) by Melinda Salisbury

I was not prepared for this excellent monster story. It took it's time to get going, but once it did I was stuck for the ride. It's scary. Hella scary. So if you aren't a fan of horror, even if it is YA horror, then I suggest you think carefully before you pick it up. But it is well written, excellently developed and requires your attention. Absolutely a love/hate ending as well. I know a lot of readers will appreciate that! I give the book 4.5 stars.

Thank you Scholastic Australia for providing me with a copy in return for my independent and honest review.

Everyone knows what happened to Alva's mother, all those years ago. But when dark forces begin to stir in Ormscaula, Alva has to face a very different future - and question everything she thought she knew about her past... Unsettling, sharply beautiful and thought-provoking, HOLD BACK THE TIDE is the new novel from Melinda Salisbury, bestselling author of The Sin Eater's Daughter trilogy.
