Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian

Laura Sebastian does not pull her punches, literally, when it comes to what the MC has to deal with, to overcome. That’s what makes this such a powerful story. A lot of YA novels have the horrific, nasty, evil villain, that never really shows that depth in the story. This one we are expressly shown, and it is extremely effective and engaging. I was both shocked and enthralled by this book. ★★★★
